Virginia McClain was born in Washington, DC. That's the easy part. After that, things get a little crazy but here's the short version: Maryland, Arizona, Germany, Virginia, Colorado, Ohio, Spain, DC again (where she earned her BA from Georgetown University), Massachusetts, Arizona (for the second time), Canada (Winnipeg to be more precise), a second stint in Colorado and now: Japan. I mean, come on, why not?
Virginia has b
een wearing many hats of late. She spent 4 years teaching Spanish full time, and then spent a year working as a Spanish tutor and an interpreter. Now she's teaching English as a Foreign Language in Japan. No matter what she's doing to pay the rent, she's also writing.
When Virginia's not busy writing she engages in many activities, most of them out of doors. Rock climbing is her top priority followed by backpacking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and camping in general. She also practices martial arts whenever possible and has recently resumed the practice of Karate.
While interested in writing in general and not any one genre in particular Virginia is a huge fan of fantasy, science fiction and adventure. Nonfiction humor is another favorite of hers and while she enjoys reading a good mystery every now and then she's never been too keen on writing them. Writing is Virginia’s passion, and she has experience doing everything from technical writing, to blog writing, to novel writing. She finished her second novel last November and while she is still in the process of editing both her second and her first Novels she went ahead and started writing third novel this year which she is about 2/3 of the way through. She looks forward to the day when she can see all of her novels (or at least the good ones) in print in the local bookstore.

Virginia currently has one dog named Artemis (named both for the Greek goddess and for the R.A. Salvatore character). She loves animals of all kinds, but wolves and hedgehogs happen to be her favorites. Fear not though, she is also a cat lover and she had a feline best friend for 15 years.
